They soon forgot about the dessert.

Their wedding brought together Chinese traditions from Dom’s side, and Filipino traditions from Abby’s. Tea ceremony, lion dance, money dance, and more. Family and friends travelled from all over the world for their wedding in Edmonton, Alberta.

Fun Fact: To this day, Abby still has not given Dom the dessert recipe.

Tegan and Aaron are super loveable, their laughter infectious. They’re adventurers with a goofy side; always a bit spontaneous. We loved getting to know them, and spending a rainy afternoon at the Broadway streetfair. They were a little nervous having video cameras, but it was too easy for us to capture their charm; Aron did most of the work with his ability to make Tegan laugh at any moment.

Their wedding day was super cute. They wrote each other notes in the morning in typical fashion: Aron’s note was 3 sentences long, Teagan’s was 3 pages long. Teagan handmade her bouquet from collected broaches. And the ceremony at the Radisson Hotel had a lovely vintage charm of Teagan’s design.

We enjoyed working alongside Chelsea Klette, an incredible, artful photographer from Saskatoon, who collaborated with us for a wonderfully fun afternoon with Teagan and Aron.

If we could describe Chad and Javi in one word, it might just be SuperHappyBananas. That’s how much fun they were. From the moment we met them, we were instant friends. And they were game for our crazy video ideas. When we suggested doing an artistic engagement film before the wedding, they were immediately down – hopping a WestJet flight for a weekend in Saskatoon. C&J were so loveable! And their families were so much fun (Nicaraguans know how to party!) A huge highlight was Chad taking his new bride in airplane above their farm. We feel so privileged that these two (and their families) let us into their world. We can’t wait to see them all again at Chad’s sister’s wedding this summer!

Their love is charmingly prairie; their first conversation turned into a debate about which brand of snowmobile is superior. Needless to say, Shawn found his match with this down to earth farm girl, who still knows how to get glam’d up. She rocked the red lipstick – and for a short time at the ceremony, so did Shawn. And cool factor: Shawn’s vintage restored cars caught the attention of quite a few around Saskatoon as the wedding party cruised the city on that sunny summer day.

We got to present a special same day video presentation for the newlyweds after supper at the reception; then later we opened the videobooth, where we recorded blackmail material of nearly all of their friends and family (Jk :) Hearing their heartfelt video messages, and watching them get downright goofy in front of the camera was a crazy fun way to end the night. We’re so happy for these two ~ congrats Lacey & Shawn!

An image appeared in our minds – 50s love story; long kept apart; reunited. We had zero time to put this together, and even less to film. We called up a pilot friend and we’re able get 1 hour access to a plane hangar bay near the #yxe airport. Coincidentally, a fuelling station Devon often stops at when travelling through Saskatoon in his CT-156 Harvard II.

We set the lights, got the cameras rolling, and said something to the effect of “Look like you haven’t seen each other in a long time…” Michelle and Devon knew exactly what to do.

On the wedding day, they were pair of silly romantics; Casey and Tyler we’re busting out their moves all day long. While Tyler was getting all teary-eyed as Casey walked down the aisle, they only needed a second together to get goofy again. The hi-five at the Ceremony made us laugh, which is always a problem when trying to keep the cameras steady.

We had such a great time with their family; happy that we’d be hanging out with them again when Casey’s sister had us back for her wedding two months later. (Keep your eyes peeled for that hootenanny of a highlights film.

Their wedding took place in the small town of Melville, SK where Brooklyn grew up. The night before their wedding, all the family gathered at a BBQ at her parent’s country home, and everyone laughed late into the night. We were so happy to film all these little moments for Ben and Brooklyn, and their families.

Mark and Chisa are adorable. She’s a ballet dancer, he’s a rock star. One of those couples who absolutely beam when they catch each other’s glance. Their outdoor wedding at the Forestry Farm was beautiful, dreamlike and warm.

At 7:18PM on their wedding day, the moon passed in front of the sun. One of those amazing events that makes you stop and consider your place in the universe, how small we all are, and what’s truly important. It was pretty cool.
